Primer Coat Painting of LPG Cylinder

  • Primer Coat Painting of LPG Cylinder

LPG Cylinders are first painted with primer paint in LPG Cylinder Re-Validation Line. Primer paint color is selected according to RAL codes of the LPG manufacturer. After the cylinders are coated with primer, the cylinders shall be left in air for drying. The drying time is determined per paint manufacturer’s recommendations.

Primer minimum coat thickness shall not be less than the specifications of the producer country. Leaving the LPG Cylinder with primer exposed for a long time period is not suggested as primer application is too thin to give enough protection for longer time periods.

Primer coating can be applied on the external surface of cylinder by a pneumatic spray gun in a fabricated painting booth. This booth shall contain water curtain draft and rotating arrangement for cylinders.
