LPG Cylinder Production Process Flow

LPG Cylinder Production process generally consists of following steps. Some detailed procedures or changes may be applied in some countries that require more precise production.

  • 1. Steel Plate Purchasing for LPG Cylinder Body

    Depending on the LPG Cylinder technical drawing purchasing of the steel plates are done

  • 1.1. Steel Plate Cutting

    Steel plate is cut into the dimensions of the LPG Cylinder body

  • 1.2. Rolling LPG Cylinder Body

    Rolling of the LPG Cylinder body to shape the cylinder if it has end caps on both sides (head and bottom halves)

  • 1.3. Longitudinal Welding of LPG Cylinder Body

    If cylinder height is much more than possible deep drawing height of the metal sheet, it must consist of three parts to resist inner pressure as: top end, body and bottom end. After rolling the sheet material as a cylinder to shape the body, it is welded from its longitudinal.

  • 1.4. Circumferential Welding of LPG Cylinder Body

    After manufacturing the base ring, body and foot ring with their plate-to-ring welding operations done, these parts are welded together from their circumferences.

  • 2. Steel Strip Purchasing for Guard Ring

    Roll of steel is cut into the width of the Guard Ring during purchasing from the steel supplier

  • 3. Steel Plate Purchasing for LPG Cylinder Halves

    LPG Cylinder top and bottom halves are manufactured from roll of steel. During purchasing steel width is calculated to minimize the scrap amount after cutting process

  • 3.1. Blanking/Cutting of the LPG Cylinder Body

  • 3.2. Drawing of the LPG Cylinder Body

    Deep Drawing of the sheet material to shape the LPG Cylinder Body. Hydraulic presses are used for deep drawing operation.

  • 3.3. Trimming/Beading of the edges of LPG Cylinder Body

    Trimming and beading of the edges of the deep-drawn sheet materials. Our design does trimming and beading at the same time to have 1 less operation as an advantage.

  • 3.4. Piercing of the LPG Cylinder Body for Valve

    Piercing of the sheet material to have a hole on LPG Cylinder Body for the purpose of valve installation. Our machine design does piercing during the deep drawing operation to have 1 less operation in the line

  • 3.5. Welding of the Collarette to LPG Cylinder Body

  • 3.6. Welding of the Guard Ring to LPG Cylinder Body

  • 4. Steel Plate Purchasing for LPG Cylinder Foot Ring

  • 4.1. Blanking/Cutting of the LPG Cylinder Foot Ring

  • 4.2. Rolling of the LPG Cylinder Foot Ring

    Rolling the Foot Ring with our custom design Rolling Machines. Our machine makes both sides of the plate closer to each other for welding operation

  • 4.3. Welding of the joints of LPG Cylinder Foot Ring

  • 4.4. Forming of the LPG Cylinder Foot Ring

  • 5. Heat Treatment of LPG Cylinder

    Welding operation of LPG Cylinder makes the welded parts chemically change their situation and harden the welded areas. To relieve stress of the cylinder heat treatment is applied. We use furnace method to equally distribute the heat on the cylinder.

  • 6. Hydro Static Testing of LPG Cylinder

    Hydro static testing of LPG Cylinder to check pressure resistance under extreme conditions compared to the usual pressure of the cylinder

  • 7. Shot Blasting of LPG Cylinder

    Shot blasting of LPG Cylinder cleans the surface of LPG Cylinder for painting operation

  • 8. Painting and Baking of LPG Cylinder

    Painting of the LPG Cylinder surface done depending on the RAL code of the cylinder manufacturer

  • 9. Weighing of LPG Cylinder

    LPG Cylinder’s weight is measured to see the steel amount is enough and to see nothing is wrong with the production

  • 10. Stamping onto LPG Cylinder

    Weight of the cylinder is stamped onto LPG Cylinder

  • 11. Valve Fitting

    Valves are fitted onto LPG Cylinder to get ready for testing purposes first, then, filling purposes.

  • 12. Leakage Testing

    LPG Cylinder air leakage testing operation is done with sinking LPG Cylinders into pool full of water.

  • 13. Completion of the Production

    Checking overall LPG Cylinder Production quality and completion.

  • 14. Shipping

    Shipping of the LPG Cylinder to the customer
